Prior to COVID19 one of Sunderland & South Tyneside CAMRA’s major annual objectives was the publication of “CAMRA Angle” a free quarterly magazine full of CAMRA news & campaign information, plus feature articles by regular & guest contributors. Distributed by members to the pubs, clubs & brewery taprooms in our area…Targeted at their customers.
Always well received, issues were often distributed by volunteers much further afield on beer trips, holidays & business travel with editions getting to (exotic) faraway places such as Australia, Siberia & Newcastle!
When COVID19 restrictions came into force continuing a printed magazine was out of the question but communicating with the public remained a major objective.
Current CAMRA Angle editor Ken Paul, already producing a personal beer blog was quick to spot the potential of going “online”.
After a trial edition of “CAMRA Angle Online” it was felt there was sufficient content to merge “CAO” with our regular internal newsletter & produce monthly!
Now at issue 15 (June 2021) we have a chronical of our local campaign throughout COVID19 with the possibility of continuing to produce beyond the restrictions until funds, mainly from advertising revenue from within the hospitality industry are available to restart the printed edition.
Thanks to Ken & his many contributors for the hours of work needed to produce this output.
