Yesterday we were able to make our second “Lockdown Hero” presentation to The Ivy House, Sunderland.
Last year our branch members nominated the “Ivy” for this award after the Pub stepped up during lockdown to help provide meals to hungry local kids during the school holidays when no free school meals provision had been made for underprivileged families.
This easily met the award criteria we had set for recognition of: “Going the extra mile, showing community spirit & support during the COVID19 emergency including acts of kindness & support for vulnerable members of our community, carers, & our key/emergency workers.”
